Living Aboard A Sailboat

Fort Myers Beach… Again

Another trip to Fort Myers Beach last week to move the sailboat to Olsen’s yard to have repairs done. BoatTowUS was great with a short trip across the channel to the yard.

At first we were hoping that we would only need to replace the transmission cooler, but instead, it is the main seal that is blown. The transmission works if you fill it with fluid, so I’m sure they’ll be able to rebuild the transmission. Unfortunately, there is a backlog at the shop that the yard uses so I won’t have a quote for another week or two.

I’m hoping to get the boat moved by the end of August. I don’t like living on land, and the boat keeps me in shape. When on the boat I’m always doing something, and the constant up and down the companionway burns calories. 🙂

Anyway, here are some pictures from around Moss Marina while I was waiting for the tow to show up.
